K-STATE'S BEACH MUSEUM OF ART HAVING HOLIDAY-THEMED WORKSHOP FOR FAMILIES
MANHATTAN -- The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University will help families get into the holiday spirit with its annual Family Holiday Workshop 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the museum.
The workshop is sponsored by the Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art, and members of the group will be on hand to assist children with their holiday-themed creations.
"Each child will be given an activity and any art supplies that they can possibly think of to create art that they can be proud of," said Denise Heideman, senior in art education, Topeka, and president of Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art. "We will help provide assistance and inspiration to the kids, although they typically have plenty of imagination."
The cost is $5 per child and children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are not required for the workshop.
For more information, contact the Beach Museum of Art at 785-532-7718 or drop by the museum on the southeast corner of the K-State campus at 14th Street and Anderson Avenue. Free visitor parking is available next to the building. Normal museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The museum is closed Mondays.
