Biography

Kathryn Harth works on the management team for Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA). Her responsibilities include facilitating the Education Advisory Board (EAB) membership through resource distribution, research reports and web audits; coordinating branding, production of marketing materials and web development; coordinating the annual spring meeting; and support, training and implementation of education and information technology.

Prior to joining Great Plains IDEA, Harth worked as a meeting planner through the Kansas State University Global Campus, coordinating conferences for higher education entities across the country, including the Academic Chairpersons Conference, the American Society for Rickettsiology, the Society for Thermal Medicine and the Great Plains IDEA Spring Meeting.

Before working in higher education, Harth was a middle school language arts teacher in Emporia and Atchison, Kansas, and Denver, Colorado.

Harth volunteers as the chapter advisor for the Silver Key Sophomore Honorary at Kansas State University, and serves as the vice president of communications for the national council of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. In her free time Harth enjoys traveling, yoga, cooking, reading and dancing. She lives in Manhattan, Kansas, with her husband (Cory), dog (Honey) and cat (Elvira).
