Course Description
Sexuality is one important component of well-being throughout the life span, and growing older doesn’t eliminate the need for sexual intimacy. This course addresses the infrequently discussed topic of sexuality as it applies to older adulthood. Students learn about the physiological changes that accompany aging and affect sexuality. Student also learn about the psychological and social impact of barriers to sexual expression, including factors such as Alzheimer’s disease, accessibility, and medication. Additional topics of the course are sexual diversity, the role of family, the role of government, and technology.

Course Access
In the three weeks prior to the start of class, students will receive course information and access instructions via email from the Iowa State campus coordinator, Iowa State Online.
The email will include instructions for how students can set up their Iowa State Net-ID and password which is needed to log into Iowa State’s Canvas system. It typically takes 1-2 business days after setting up a Net-ID before students can log into Iowa State’s Canvas. Courses may not be visible in Canvas until the first day of class.
If students experience problems registering for a Net-ID, they can contact the Iowa State Solution Center for assistance at 515-294-4000. Students will need their 9-digit ISU university ID (provided in the ISU campus coordinator email) for the Solution Center to assist them. The Solution Center is open evenings and weekends. Having an integrated financial strategy for families has become increasingly important for families to stabilize their finances, especially during the pandemic. Acquiring professional knowledge on how to well manage family wealth has motivated me to pursue a master’s degree program in family financial planning and become a professional financial planner. The Great Plains IDEA program offers me a great path to this academic field and to gain the skills to help people protect financial resources.
