Biography

Amy C. Williamson Payton is the Ramona Ware Emmons Paul Professor in Early Childhood in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at Oklahoma State University. She is the director of the Institute for Building Early Relationships within the department with a mission to build life-long resilience in very young children and families through collaborative research, education, and outreach.

Payton specializes in infant and toddler development and education. Her research focuses on the development of caregiver-child relationships in the context of family and early education settings as well as teacher professional development and well-being.

Payton is the co-editor of the upcoming volume Building Early Social and Emotional Relationships with Infants and Toddlers: Integrating Research and Practice (Springer).
