Mary Harris has been a professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Colorado State University since 2004. She is also a renal dietitian at Fresenius Medical Care for Fort Collins/Loveland/Greeley, Colo., a position she has held since 2002.
She held positions of associate professor from 1998 to 2003 and assistant professor from 1985 to 1998 in the CSU Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. In 1998 she became an associate professor adjoint of Pediatrics for the University of Colorado School of Medicine, a position she continues.
She has been an internship and didactic program director for the CSU Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition since 1994 and held the position of internship director for that department beginning in 1987.
Prior to her work with CSU, Harris was an instructor (1985-1986) at Tufts University School of Medicine with the Department of Ophthalmology scientific and research staff. From 1982-1984 she was a postdoctoral fellow with Tufts-New England Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology. She was an instructor from 1981-1982 for the University of Rhode Island.
Her honors include Golden Key Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Xi, and Omicron Nu.
