Rachel Ohmes has been supporting students at Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance (Great Plains IDEA) since April 2016.  She received her Master of Arts in English from Kansas State University in 2014 and has worked in higher education for six years.  She is also working on her second master's degree in Adult Learning and Leadership, focusing on bettering online student services. Students often come to her for help with enrolling in classes, making contact with faculty members, and guiding them through their academic career with Great Plains IDEA.  She loves helping students achieve their next steps in their academic career and is passionate about supporting students while they balance work, family, and school.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and daughter, which usually includes training dogs or cooking together.  Her family fosters dogs for a local organization, and they also have one rescue Dachshund and two rescue Pit Bulls of their own. She looks forward to helping you with your journey with Great Plains IDEA!
