Rachel Ohmes has been supporting students at Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance since April 2016 as the Kansas State University campus coordinator. She has also been the lead campus coordinator for Great Plains IDEA since August 2017.

Ohmes received her Master of Science in Adult Learning and Leadership from Kansas State University in 2019, and earned a graduate certificate in Academic Advising the same year.  In 2014, she earned her Master of Arts in English from Kansas State University and has also worked in higher education since 2012. She is working on her PhD in Adult Learning and Leadership, focusing on bettering online student services through relationship building strategies and online communities.

Students often come to her for help with enrolling in classes and making contact with faculty members. She guides students through their academic career with Great Plains IDEA.  She loves helping students achieve their next steps in their academic career, and she is passionate about supporting students while they balance work, family, and school.

In her free time, Ohmes loves spending time with her husband and daughter. She is also passionate about animal rescue and spends a lot of time training her personal dogs.  You can usually find her and her family making memories with their four rescue dogs, Haven, Silas, Ruby, and Leonard.

Ohmes looks forward to helping you with your journey with Great Plains IDEA. She is ready to support you in any way she can!
