Biography

Cynthia Domenghini earned her Bachelor of Science in horticulture from California Polytechnic State University in 2004. She continued her education at Chapman University earning her multiple subject teaching credential in 2006 and a master’s degree in teaching in 2009 while teaching elementary school in California. Domenghini moved to Kansas to pursue a doctorate in horticulture from Kansas State University where she studied human issues in horticulture.

Her research focus during her time as a student at Kansas State University focused on using horticulture to benefit youth health by targeting increased fruit and vegetable consumption, physical activity and nutrition knowledge. Upon completion of her doctorate, Domenghini moved to Vermont where she worked as an education specialist for National Gardening Association. She currently resides in Kentucky and serves as the instructor and coordinator for the horticultural therapy online certificate program at Kansas State University. She teaches distance courses that prepare students for a career in horticulture therapy.
