Kathryn Harth works on the management team for Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance. Her responsibilities include facilitating the EAB membership through resource distribution, research reports, and web audits; coordinating branding, production of recruitment materials, and web development; coordinating the annual spring meeting; and support, training, and implementation of education and information technology.
Prior to joining Great Plains IDEA, Harth worked as a meeting planner through the Kansas State University Global Campus coordinating conferences for higher education entities across the country, including the Academic Chairpersons Conference, the American Society for Rickettsiology, the Society for Thermal Medicine, and the Great Plains IDEA Spring Meeting. Before working in higher education, Harth was a middle school language arts teacher in Emporia, Kan., Atchison, Kan., and Denver, Colo.
Harth volunteers as the chapter advisor for the Silver Key Sophomore Honorary at Kansas State University, is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, volunteers on the Advisory Council for the K-State School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and serves on the board of directors for Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. In her free time, Harth enjoys traveling, yoga, cooking, reading, and dancing. She lives in Manhattan, Kan., with her husband (Cory), dog (Honey) and cat (Elvira).
