
Michelle C. Mathews is an assistant teaching professor, director of the MU Child Development Laboratory, and advisor for child development & education and ECEMS students. She has over 25 years of experience in early childhood education as a teacher, administrator, advocate, trainer, consultant, grant writer, college instructor, researcher, evaluator, curriculum developer, and assessment coordinator.
Mathews received her doctorate from MU in human environmental sciences in 2006 with a focus on early childhood education. She co-authored "Their Future is in Our Hands: Becoming an Effective Advocate for Early Childhood Education" and is president of the Missouri Association for the Education of Young Children.
